About us

Members of WSHTC have a vast range of truck makes and models in the club and we don't discriminate. The only stipulation is that all trucks are 30 years or older.
The Western Sydney Historical Truck Club was established in 2009 and exists because of active people with like-minded interests. Membership is a privilege, not a rite of passage. We participate in events organized by or supported by the club throughout the year.
Members receive a newsletter several times per year which keeps them up to date with information about upcoming events as well as past runs.
We hold regular breakfast runs and mystery lunch runs to "blow out the cobwebs" and to catch up with or make new friends. These are always well attended.
Every year we are major supporters of the Sydney Classic and Antique Truck Show at the Museum of Fire, Penrith.
Every second year we hold our major run from Camden along the old Hume Highway to Yass. The purpose of this run is to relive the olden days on Highway 31, to have a lot fun and also to raise a few dollars for Autism Spectrum. This event attracted 308 trucks from all over Australia in 2017.

Requirements of Membership and Historic Registration

If you want to register your vintage truck with historic registration this can be done after a qualifying period of 12 months. In order to qualify for historic registration you must attend a minimum of 4 events during the first year. After this, attendance at a minimum of 2 club events is required to keep your registration. At each event you must sign the attendance book. The Club's ability to register trucks is governed by the rules for historic vehicles set by the RMS. You will be required to supply a pink slip from a private service station. If you do not abide by these rules your registration will not be approved by our registrar or will be cancelled. If your membership expires, then your registration also expires.
The initial joining fee to become a member of WSHTC is $100.00 with annual membership paid June 30 each following year.

What will my membership of WSHTC get me ?

• Newsletter published 4 times per year and which contains up to date information about upcoming events, past runs, changes to regulations and obligations that affect membership, vintage vehicle ownership and operation, and occasionally members stories.
• WSHTC shirt, cap and windscreen sticker
• Access to the Club’s Facebook page
• Participation in Outings where you can socialize with members;
• Enjoy a ride in a member’s truck on a club run if you don’t have a truck yet or your truck is still under restoration;
• Share information on technical matters about various trucks.
• The ability to register your vintage vehicle on historic registration after the prescribed waiting period.
It is important to remember that the more you put into your club membership the more you get out of it.

How do I participate in a club event?

For a member without a historically registered vehicle, you follow instructions listed in the newsletter and/or on the Facebook page. For breakfast runs you must phone your intention to attend for catering purposes.
For a member with a historically registered vehicle you must have a copy of the newsletter or flyer of the event with you inside your vehicle.
For an event that is not listed in the newsletter, make sure you advise the Club registrar so your intention to attend is recorded and have a flyer showing the event you are going to.
At a “club” event please sign the attendance book so your attendance can be recorded. Sometimes there may be several events run on the same day and an event may be without attendance book. If there is no attendance book at /an event send a text message to the Secretary mob. 0147068144 with details of your name, your membership number, the date and name of the event.
